Welcome to the Washington Association for Bilingual Education (WABE) website.
We have entered an era where becoming bilingual is viewed as a talent and strength, not an illness that needs to be remedied. At the same time, we find our students struggling in settings where "accountability" and testing has been interpreted to mean English-language dominance.
We, as members and friends of WABE, must step forward to demonstrate how quality bilingual programs provide all students with the academic strengths and skills needed to be successful in the world today.
